OsiriX is a powerful application that allows you to open and browse, or even receive DICOM images transferred using the specific communication protocol.
OsiriX is very easy to install: a simple drag and drop is sufficient. Note that the developers recommend placing it into your Applications folder and creating an alias if you want to access it from another location.
OsiriX offers you the possibility to view 2D, 3D, 4D(the temporal dimension is added) or 5D images(include both the temporal and functional dimensions). The application is able to display data captured by different medical imaging systems: CT, MR, CR, US, DR and more.
OsiriX also includes DICOM network support and enables you to send, receive or query studies. Additionally, you can transform the app into a DICOM PACS server. You can send the images to the OsiriX HD iOS application or you can choose to simply print them.
OsiriX is a complex application that allows you to view DICOM files and take advantage of all the functionalities included in the DICOM standard.
